I wanted a tidy , safe vehicle for my 17-year-old boy And I think the vehicle was a perfect choice.

This was the 3.6 engine and driven modestly returned 8.8 litres per 100 km on a trip from Palmerston North thr Hawkes Bay to Taupo. It has a pretty good tow rating and towing our caravan across to the Bay of Plenty and return has achieved 11.4 litres per 100 km. A really good alrounder, we have owned six Subarus this is the first Outback.

The Outback was actually in better condition than I was expecting after putting a deposit on this vehicle based on viewing photos online. It certainly wasn't "over sold" to me. This is my third Subaru Outback and I am 100% glad I bought this 2012 face lift model. My initial concerns before driving it were toward the cvt transmission as I am an avid manual gearbox owner, however after owning this vehicle for a couple of weeks now I am very happy with how the transmission behaves both in traffic and the open road. The Outback is so quiet and smooth it really is a pleasure to drive. Fuel consumption is very good for a vehicle of this size and weight.
